How the email code works

An email QR code encodes a mailto: link. Scanning it opens the default mail app with the recipient, subject and message body already in place, so the person only has to press send.

Subject and body are percent-encoded, which means line breaks, accents and punctuation all survive the trip.

Questions

Does it send the email automatically?
No, and it should not. The draft opens in the mail app and the person sends it deliberately.
Can I add Cc and Bcc?
Yes, both fields are supported and appended as mailto parameters. Some minimal mail clients ignore Bcc.
Why is my code so dense?
Long message bodies expand fast because every character is percent-encoded. Keep the pre-filled text short.
